Injuries in Train Accident:

Seven individuals sustained minor injuries in a train accident between Munich and Ingolstadt on a Friday.

An ICE (InterCityExpress) and a regional train had a minor collision at a switch in Reichertshausen station. Both train drivers noticed the contact and activated emergency brakes.

Investigation Initiated: Authorities, including experts from the Federal Police and the railway, will investigate the cause of the accident in the coming weeks.

In total, around 1,200 passengers were stranded in Reichertshausen.

Evacuation Measures: Passengers had to wait for evacuation, and the Ilmtalhalle in Reichertshausen was provided as a temporary facility for them.

Route Closure: The railway closed the route in the direction of Nuremberg. The closure is expected to last until 3 a.m.

Replacement Transport:  ICE trains on the Munich - Ingolstadt - Nuremberg route are being rerouted, causing delays of up to one hour.
